valhalla

valhalla was a basic proof-of-concept kernel written in a very early version of Crystal (~0.10). As a language targeting native compilation with systems-level pretensions, I felt like I had to put it to the test, and I was pleasantly surprised by how feasible it was.

I didn't take it beyond that, as I felt like I had proved what I had set out to prove. Happily, someone else (actually, a few someones!) had a go at this and actually got somewhere with it.
